Background

Brent Medley, the President of Shark Fights, announced that it will be a traditional pay per view airing. Sherdog.com aired four preliminary fights live on their website.[2]

Dave Herman was forced off the card due to legal issues with the Bellator Fighting Championships.[3] He was replaced by Devin Cole.

Drew McFedries and Marcus Hicks were forced off the card with injuries.[4]

The Spratt/Davila fight was changed to catchweight status after Davila weighed in at 176.5 lbs; 5.5 lbs over the 171 lbs welterweight limit for non title fights.[5]

The Daley/Masvidal fight was also changed to a catchweight after Daley weighed in at 171.75 lbs; .75 lbs over the limit. Daley will give up 10 percent of his "show purse" to Masvidal for being overweight.[6]

On April 1, 2011, Shark Fights announced they signed a deal with FUEL TV to feature highlighted fights from Shark Fights 13 on the series FUEL TV's Friday Fight Night.[7]
